Cristiano Ronaldo was wearing Nike Mercurial Vapor IV boots for the first time when he scored his first United hat-trick.
United’s official sportswear partner Nike claimed an assist when Cristiano Ronaldo bagged his first hat-trick for the Reds.
The Portuguese star was wearing Nike’s new Mercurial Vapor IV boots for the first time in a match when he scored thrice in the Reds’ 6-0 thrashing of Newcastle.

Cristiano was consulted by Nike in the design process, as were other top Premier League players including Chelsea’s Didier Drogba and Arsenal’s Theo Walcott. As a result, Nike has produced its most innovative football boot featuring:

The February 2008 launch of the Mercurial Vapor IV marks ten years since Mercurial boots were first designed for the other Ronaldo - the Brazilian striker.
